In-Home Euthanasia Services from House Call Vet RVA

What to Expect

You have made the compassionate decision to allow your pet to pass peacefully in the comfort and privacy of your own home. Upon arrival, Dr. Hemsley will explain the procedure and welcomes any questions or concerns you may have. The produce is very peaceful and we encourage you to take as much or as little time needed throughout. Dr. Hemsley will administer an injection to help your pet relax. This provides a peaceful, pain-free passing. Once your pet is relaxed and you are ready, Dr. Hemsley will administer the euthanasia medication. This is not a painful injection but it does work quickly. Dr. Hemsley will let you know once your pet has passed. We encourage you to take as much time as you need after.

Cremation Services

We coordinate cremation services, including transportation from your home to the crematorium. Cremation fees are in addition to the In-Home Euthanasia Fee. In order to provide you and your family privacy, Dr. Hemsley does not arrive with an assistant. Therefore, if your pet weighs more than 40 pounds, she may ask for assistance moving your pet. In the event additional assistance is needed moving your pet, outside your availability within the home, please let Dr. Hemsley know when you schedule your visit. Additional help can be coordinated, please see below for fees.

For Private Cremation, Dr. Hemsley will personally delivery your pet’s remains to you. There is no additional fee for this service.
